Living and working on Maui since 1989, jewelry designer Shirley Lecomte has managed jewelry stores, art galleries, and collaborated with designers for years. She feels very blessed to live in Lahaina and incorporates this genuine feeling of love into jewelry art pieces that inspire the wearer to think and feel proud of the beautiful paradise she calls home.
It is her passion and love for her West Maui home that served as inspiration for the "Zip Code" Pendant Series originally produced in 2005. The "96761" Zip Code pendant was designed to serve as an heirloom memento and constant reminder to the wearer of their precious time spent in the most desirable district of the best island in the world.
These fine hand-crafted pendants are made from heavy, high quality white or yellow gold, or silver. Their unique styling is subtle, yet draws the eye in a desire to learn more - much like Maui beckons to visitors.
Along with zip code pendants, the line has recently expanded to include "area codes" of an array of interesting cities.
Recent Designs by Shirley jewelry creations include the "808" (Hawaii area code), the "96753" (Wailea & Kihei zip code), the "Maile Leaf" (Love, Honor, and Respect), "415" ( San Francisco area code), "92037" LaJolla, "907" (Alaska Area Code), "25yrs".(Anniversary), "96816" Kohala, "070707" "Once in a Lifetime", and the soon to be released "080808" Once in a Lifetime " Prosperity" pendant.
In an effort to promote world peace and to support global awareness of environmental issues, the "One Earth" pendant was created. Designs By Shirley has committed a portion of the sale of each "One Earth" pendant to the "LIVE EARTH" Foundation.
